GAC values nutrition as a key aspect of health and wellness, which is why we provide a home—delivered meal program, one of the largest and most comprehensive in Cleveland. Our home delivered meal service is a lifeline of support for frail, homebound seniors. Each day, a nutritious meal is delivered to each senior who is enrolled in the program by our caring home delivery team. By reducing the challenges of mealtime preparation, we are doing our part to empower older adults to lead independent lifestyles while maintaining nutritional wellness.

  • This program serves over 135,000 meals each year to homebound and at risk older adults.
  • 93% of clients receiving home-delivered meals are eligible for nursing home care.
  • Without the support of GAC’s services, most would face nursing home placement, which would cost Ohio taxpayers tens of millions of dollars per year.

Getting Started
After reviewing the following information and contacting the GAC Home Delivered Meal Program at (216) 361-0777 a Home Delivered Meal staff member will schedule a visit to your residence to determine your eligibility for the Home Delivered Meals program. Pending your eligibility, you will begin to receive hot, nutritious meals from our caring staff.

Eligibility
GAC provides well-balanced meals to adults age 60 and older who are homebound and unable to participate in a group setting. The spouse of an eligible participant may also participate in the program regardless of their age.

Delivery Days and Times
One meal is delivered per day Monday thru Friday between the hours of 10:30 a.m. and 2:30 p.m.

Cost
There is a suggested donation for the lunch meal of $1; it is not a specific charge. The participant decides how much, if anything, they can donate. It can be contributed any day at the time your meal is delivered by placing the contribution in an envelope provided to you by the meal provider. The contribution can be made in cash or by check.
